School: Hopefully the third time’s a charm on this biology exam. I rushed through my labs this weekend to make sure I had ample time to cram for it. That was pretty much my entire Saturday. My online chemistry homework went poorly. I couldn’t even muster the 80% required for full credit. It would seem that my thermochemistry knowledge is lacking. I’ll have to set some time aside to work more practice problems until the concepts become intuitive.
I’m registered for Fall term. It will not be fun. Presently I will say no more on this matter.
Fitness: Staying up late last night to finish my laundry precluded going for a run this morning. Last week went rather well. I was able to wake up each weekday early to either run or do a brief workout in the laundry room. I still need to make the time to do a longer run on the weekend, but I’m trending in the right direction and for now, that’s good enough.
Pre-Med: The mandatory training for the CRISP (ED research volunteering) program is this Thursday. I’ve got all my paperwork and training modules completed. All that’s left is to show up ready to learn and work. This could really bolster my application.

Fitness: I’ve recommitted to running at least three times a week. So far I’ve made two of my scheduled runs. The most astonishing thing I noticed was a feeling of greater engagement and interest in class. It may be purely coincidental, but if running before classes is another way to bolster my studies, it would make it even easier to stick with.
School: Another round of exams has left me a bit disappointed with myself. My grades are still salvageable, but I will have to work hard for this to happen.
Yesterday’s Win of the Day:
- A much needed relaxed Sunday
Today:
- Print bio lab
- Read Endocrinology chapter
- Pick up library books
- Grocery supplemental
- Math practice problems
- Start Chem lab
From three different instructors, when speaking about epinephrine and the fight or flight response, have all used the analogy of being chased by a tiger. Early endocrinologists must have really hated tigers.
This was amazing. Believe the hype.
#can you imagine if we left these 4 guys alone in the top floor of stark tower for like a month #or even just a week #SHIT WOULD GET DONE #we’d probably have interstellar travel in 3 days

School: I have two exams today. I’ll venture the prediction that one will be much easier than I’m fearing and the other will be much worse. I’ve done some thorough reviewing though and I think I’ll be okay in any case. With any luck, this will mean I’ll get home earlier and will be able to get a jump start on all those little nagging things I put off this weekend.
I’m registered for Summer classes. It’s going to be physics-tastic. As intensive the pace I’ll be moving at will be, I can at least be grateful that it’s only one subject
Errata: So I’m engaged now. It will be quite some time before a wedding happens, but with everything looming ahead of me, it’s nice to have one thing that I can look forward to with certainty.
Yesterday’s Win of the Day:
- Freakin’ Avengers movie was phenomenal!
Today:
- Math Homework
- Start Chem Lab
- Study for Chem exam
- Start Phl essay
- Dishes
- Laundry
- Budget

School: The next round of exams is looming. Once again this will probably dominate my weekend. A small favor at least is that the setup for this week’s bio lab did not work at all and we have a milk run of a report. I can have that done in one fell swoop. I’ve taken extra steps to prepare for chem lab this week, so not only did that make the actual lab session go by much more easily, but also it will make writing my lab report much easier. This is usually the low point of my week, so if I can find a way to lessen the strain at all, it will be a boon to everything else I need to get done.
Fitness: I’m not going to lie. I’ve been slacking. I have neither run nor done a p90x workout at all this week. Part of the blame lies in me staying up too late, but a good portion of it is plain old lack of willpower to make the time. School takes priority over just about everything right now for me, but I should still consider re-evaluating how I go about my day to make sure I don’t let myself go.
Money: I’m still about two weeks behind on where my budget should be and I haven’t even made a new spreadsheet for May. I have a good deal of time in transit today, so hopefully I can make use of that time.
Yesterday’s Win of the Day:
- People starting to thank me in person for posting lecture recordings
Today:
- General clean up
- Finish budget reconciliation
- Start online homework (math or chemistry)
- General reading and studying
